So long, 2007! I'll miss you!! You treated me so well...Not like 2005, that filthy whore. Anyhoo, I'm sure that this year will be totally rad because last night I ate at QQ's Chinese Cuisine and had "Special Jellylike Mass", which I'm sure is SO totally full of good luck. So I'm SET! RAWR!

I thought of some good resolutions, too:

-I resolve to print at least one doujinshi.
-I resolve to work harder on individual illustrations.
-I resolve to get some exercise, andd...
-I resolve to get more things done!

...actually, I need to start doing that like, right now.

    Happy Holidays and junk!!

Ah...I've been kinda out of the loop since I got back from NYC....and now it's only 5 days until Xmas~ What happened?? Anyways, NYC was really cool....It was my first time so I mostly had my head craned backwards and my mouth hanging open (sorry native new yorkers, I was pretty touristy on this first trip.) I learned lots of things about New York; the bagels really are very good, it's very cold in december there, new york is host to a healthy ninja community, and cabbies reaaally hate tourists.

AND I GOT TO SEE THE INOUE MURAL!! HOORAY FOR INOUE-SENSEI!!! (bow before my super original photo of the mural!)

...you can really see the artist's hand in the piece....

There was so much to look at and do and so many neat places to visit....that I almost forgot about that con I was supposed to go to...what was it? Oh yes, the New York Anime Festival. I did spend a little bit of time there. Tokyopop was promoting their english version of the Gothic Lolita Bible with lots of stuff for lolitas to do: high tea, photo ops on wooden benches with cascading fake roses and the like, a fashion show to take a gander at...it was neat. I didn't really participate, although I did dress as a lolita to help a friend promote her now open Baroquendoll homepage. I met loads of nice people at the signings and lots of super nice artists, too (some for a second time around) like Maximo, Svetlana, Amy, Jo, and lets not forget the super awesome folks at Lime Manga! (so happy to finally meet them in person) And...I still need to say hi again to most of them...(I suck) Obviously the past week and a half sorta slipped away without me realizing it. Annnnd now I've got loads of work to do.

Working hard or hardly working? The former, I suppose... Lots of good stuff's been going down for me. I'm very happy to say that the Kodansha Morning 2 magazine with my story in it has been on the shelves since Oct. 30 and I've been getting lots of good feedback so far...and some other...interesting opinions as well. The magazine looked great! It's all sparkly! I also got interviewed by a big Japanese newspaper called Sankei Shimbun.

Other than that I've been busy making manga and looking at toys that I'm too poor to buy. Until this past week neither have been much fun, but I'm over my slump and now drawing manga, at least, has been much more fulfilling! Oh yeah, I'm going to go to New York City in a few weeks for the New York Anime Festival after all! Hooray! I'm super excited cuz I've never been to New York before. I dunno what I'm going to do once I get there. All I know is that I HAVE to go see Inoue's mural at the new Kinokuniya store, and I want some of these.
